EICR (Landlord Certificate)

Approximately 18% of domestic fires in England are caused by faulty wiring, so it is vital to make sure all electrical installations are safe to use.

An EICR is the most comprehensive way of keeping your installations safe.

Did you know In the UK, Statistics show there are approximately 19,300 accidental fires of electrical origin each year.that’s almost 53 per day !

Since 1st July 2020 for any new tenancy and 1st April 2022 for an existing tenancy, an Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) is a requirement by law and should be carried out at least every 5 years, failure to provide one carries a fine of up to £30,000 you also won’t be able to serve notice on your tenant.

It is also very important to have a EICR carried out before purchasing a property, although this is not a legal requirement. This could save you from any nasty surprises in the future and also save you a lot of Money.

Not many people would buy a car for only £1000 that does not have a valid MOT so why purchase a home for many £££ and not have piece of mind the wiring is adequate and more importantly safe.
